Robert Mapplethorpe
These might be sensitive for some people but I love how Robert Mapplethorpe uses light against the human body. It is interesting how it reacts to the angle the light is coming from because at the right angle, features are more pronounced and sometimes emphasized. Put the light in the wrong spot and the body looks washed out and flat. This shows in his statue photographs as well. Controversial type of photographs might make for the most interesting conversations.
